Raphael has worked in and around events for just over 10 years. He started his career in audio visual production back in 2008, building PA systems, video walls, sound engineering and crewing. In 2012 he made an unusual career jump to law enforcement where he undertook specialist training, enabling him to work in higher-risk events, sporting fixtures and protests. The majority of his work is in large-scale live music concerts and festivals, however he also has considerable experience spanning a wide spectrum of other event types, including public celebrations, displays and parades, through to experiential and brand activations, sporting and cultural events. For some clients he provides full event management services including event strategy, design, budgeting, licensing and stakeholder engagement; for others, more specific ‘operational level’ services such as safety advice, security management, staffing, logistics coordination and command and control roles. He prides himself on being flexible enough to fit into a pre-existing team to fulfil a role or build a team from the ground up for projects where a wider scope is required. He draws upon a range of accumulated industry knowledge through both academic study and years of experience, including; event safety, operations planning, crowd management, staffing, logistics, technical production, temporary structure builds, staging, licensing, site work and various other areas which are frequently of use when working on live events.
